An insanely flattering review of "NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other stories" by fellow rock memoir author Jim Ruland ended up landing me a spot in the lineup of his long-running reading series, Vermin On The Mount.
I'll be reading selections from "The Hepatitis Bathtub" at the 12th anniversary edition of Vermin on the Mount on Saturday, August 20th at 7pm at 3RDSPACE in San Diego.
Other authors include Lisa Brackmann, David Fromm, Rebecca Gonzales, Shelby Gubba, Shawna Kenney, and Scot Sothern. (Admission is free!)
Meanwhile, "The Hepatitis Bathtub" is being translated into several different languages...the first one that has become available is a Portuguese translation, available from HSMerch.com.
(More translations and an audio book coming soon!)
"NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories" hits the NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLERS LIST!!!
It's official! The book I co-authored with NOFX, The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories, hit #9 on the New York Times Best Sellers list during it's first week of publication, and has remained on the list for a second week as well!
I was able to celebrate the news with my family and the band during a recent trip to the east coast, where I attended sold-out book signings in my home state of Pennsylvania and at the legendary Strand Bookstore in New York City. (Pictures below!)
Thanks to all the fans and curious readers who purchased copies of the book and helped us make the list! And thanks to all my friends and family for putting up with my new habit of dropping the phrase "New York Times Best Selling Author" into casual conversation whenever possible.
And if you haven't picked up your copy of the New York Times Best Selling autobiography of one of the world's most influential and controversial punk bands, you can pick up this New York Times Best Seller from Amazon or Barnes and Noble or wherever New York Times Best Selling books are sold!

Smelly has a way with kids... |
...and so does Mike |
El Hefe before the signing at The Strand in NYC |
A fan brought his lightsaber to the signing. Fat Mike immediately attempted to use it as a sex toy. |
The people at the Strand said NOFX sold more copies at their signing than Buzz Aldrin did at his. (Sorry, Buzz...second place again!) |
"NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories" is OUT NOW! (And doing pretty well!)
The book I co-authored with NOFX, NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories, was released on April 12th and managed to crack the Top 100 list on Amazon and the Top 50 at Barnes and Noble within the first week!
The reader reviews have been extremely flattering and the critics have been kind as well:
New Noise Magazine
Live Nation TV
Ground Control Magazine
For The Love Of Punk
The response on social media has been amazing, with people posting pictures of their reaction to the book on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and using the hashtag #hepatitisbathtub. (It's hard to pick a favorite, but this pic and caption by Noodles from The Offspring is certainly a top contender!)
NOFX is currently on tour supporting the book, and doing daily book signings in each city! Below are some pictures from their recent signing at Book Soup in Los Angeles:

May as well get some reading done while you wait! |
Really loving the t-shirts they made for this tour... the Seuss parody was the original cover concept for the book, and the Pepsi shirt reads "NOFX: The choice of a Hep C Generation." |
This is the first instance of Hepatitis Bathtub cosplay I've seen! The pink polo shirt with the safety pin is a reference to Mike's first chapter. |
Smelly gets bored easily. |
Me with the band |
Thanks to everyone who has been supporting the book and saying nice things about it online! I'm planning to attend the book signings at the Doylestown Bookshop in PA and at The Strand in New York so hopefully I'll see you there!
"NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories" Available For Pre-Order Now! (Book Tour Announced For April)
For the past few years I've been working as the ghostwriter for NOFX's official autobiography, The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories, and it's finally available for pre-order on Amazon and BarnesAndNoble.com!
NOFX will be doing a special reading from the book and a Q&A at this year's SXSW Music Festival, followed by a U.S. tour in support of the book.
And on each date of the tour, NOFX will be stopping at a local book store to do readings and signings. (Click here for the full list of events!)
I'm extremely proud of the book we've put together and have been looking forward to the release for a long time. NOFX has some incredible stories, you don't even have to be a fan to enjoy them. I look forward to hearing what the readers will say, but I've been humbled by the reactions so far:
I can say with certainty I've never read a rock biography with such balanced elements of sensation and sincerity. Like the few great band bios, the array of experiences described in The Hepatitis Bathtub are enough to set anyone into contemplation about strength and perseverance, love and depravity, camaraderie, and a place for misfit rock and rollers in a society that to this day clings to rigid standards. A must-read for punks new and old and an eye-opening read for all new-comers."
